ACT 1
Scene 1
Thunder and Lightning. Enter three Witches.
...or in rain?
When the hurly-burly’s done,
When the battle’s lost and won.
...Where the place?
Upon the heath.
...I come, Graymalkin.
Paddock calls.
... Anon.
Fair is foul, and foul is fair;
Hover through the fog and filthy air.
They exit.
Scene 3
...Macbeth hath won.
Thunder. Enter the three Witches.
...thou been, sister?
Killing swine.
...and I’ll do.
I’ll give thee a wind.
...what I have.
Show me, show me.
...Macbeth doth come.
ALL, dancing in a circle
The Weïrd Sisters, hand in hand,
Posters of the sea and land,
Thus do go about, about,
Thrice to thine and thrice to mine
And thrice again, to make up nine.
Peace, the charm’s wound up.
...Thane of Glamis!
All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor!
...your hate. Hail!
Hail!
...Macbeth and greater.
Not so happy, yet much happier.
...I charge you.
Witches vanish.
ACT 3
Scene 5
...young in deed.
Thunder. Enter the three Witches, meeting Hecate.
...be back again.
They exit.
ACT 4
Scene 1
...prayers with him.
Thunder. Enter the three Witches.
...cat hath mewed.
Thrice, and once the hedge-pig whined.
...th’ charmèd pot.
The Witches circle the cauldron.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake
In the cauldron boil and bake.
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder’s fork and blindworm’s sting,
Lizard’s leg and howlet’s wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
...of our cauldron.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon’s blood.
Then the charm is firm and good.
...you put in.
By the pricking of my thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes.
Open, locks,
Whoever knocks.
...’t you do?
A deed without a name.
...you. Speak.
Demand.
...Into the flame.
Come high or low;
Thyself and office deftly show.
...top of sovereignty?
Listen but speak not to ’t.
...in this kingdom?
Seek to know no more.
...is this? Show.
Show.
... Show.
Show his eyes and grieve his heart.
Come like shadows; so depart.
...his welcome pay.
Music. The Witches dance and vanish.
