HTML

"HTML" stands for HyperText Markup Language, and it's the default language of the Internet. Folger Digital Texts uses HTML as its primary file format in displaying texts on Folger Digital Texts. These files provide quality reading texts that you can download and open in any browser, regardless of internet connection, and provide web developers with a simple framework for creating their own non-commercial applications. Use of this content is protected under our Terms of Use.

Please select your content from the list. Your browser will download a compressed folder that contains the HTML file(s) and supporting images and processing files needed to run your selected title(s) in a browser, edit using a text editor, or import into a pre-existing project. Remember that in order for the file to render properly in a browser, all of the files that are included in the download must be kept in the place (i.e., in the same folder) on your system.
